Installed linux Mint on my 2014 era Intel powered Macbook Air. The installation went very smoothly using the USB installer that I had burnt using macOS.

The CD did not ship with the BroadCom drivers required for the WiFi to work. I had a moment of slight annoyance at not downloading the drivers before I went down this path.. But, google search found me the installation instructions.

I was able find the USB-Network Dongle in my “Electronics Bin” after only 20 seconds of searching (great feeling when that happens), and installed the drivers with a simple sudo apt install bcmwl-kernel-source. And I was able to select and login to my Wifi Network from the task bar after the reboot.

It is running Linux Mint 22.1 based on Ubuntu noble.
