2020
2020
- Do alchemy. make something of “nothing” or very
little
- Start from the beginning. Let go of your “accomplishments”,
“seniority”, “experience”. Strive for Beginner’s
mind.
- Be loose. not tight. not frowny.
- Remember the game is outside the salary making. The “work” is not
your goal or life. Do enough to milk the situation + get the maximum
mileage without committing all of your self to it.
- success is multi-dimensional. success is not just the money and
“title” at work. Success is having control of your
situation. Being at peace. Having control over your time, and
emotions and being in a place that can afford you these freedoms. In
many ways this starts with-in. But needs to be practiced
(realized) in real world on a daily basis.
- Continue to seek out “good” people. Do not be disheartened if you do
not find such people among the coworkers, or other set of people who are
readily available, but may not be the people you seek. But this seeking
should not come in your way of seeking the good within you.
- What is important? – immersing in the greatness everywhere (India,
world). Seeing beauty (nature, history, tradition).
- I have to take steps and leaps towards greatness. Greatness
that exists in other people, places.. and recover/discover one in
yourself. Let this be the year when you continue to move away from the
fear driven living towards discovering your truer self.
- hack the
system.
- strategy for 2020 at work – manage up
- your job doesn’t / may not lead “anywhere”. and
that’s fine. You are not your job. As of this moment, I have a well
paying job, and I’m able to take care of the needs of myself, and my
family. That is good. My job is a “necessity” for now, till I figure out
of a way of not needing it. But consciously move it towards the
“sufficient” bucket. Do not obsess over the job as a replacement for
knowing yourself.
- Do the obvious thing for a change when it comes to your
job. When you are always to trying to do something “special” in every
endeavor, you get tired out, waste your energy. $WORK is one of those
things for you right. Do the “right thing”, manage up, listen,
understand expectations (and only exceed when there is some benefit to
it). Stay away from being the problem child. You don’t need to be the
“golden child” either, if its too much to bear.
- Two important things to work on this year
- Anger – strive towards not being angry at situations and people.
Retrospect on a daily basis (meditation).
- Ego (ahamkaara) is the root of much of my suffering.
