Be a friend of yourself. Say “It will be alright. now let’s go and do the thing that needs to be done.”

took me years to begin to understand that one of the most heroic things you can do is not hate yourself – visakanv

Be kind, and firm with yourself. Do not let yourself make excuses for slipping up on your integrity. Renegotiating on your commitments should happen consciously that includes clear tradeoffs, and not as “It’s ok if I don’t do this.” while fully knowing that is probably not ok. What will end up happening is, you are just postponing thinking about the consequences to a later date, and thus making new mental debt you have to deal with.

Procrastination does NOT spring° joy

When you procrastinate instead of working on your commitments, it leaves you with a sense of dread. The contrast with when you are in the flow – even when you are not making progress (or trying hard to get unstuck) – is huge.

°I know the saying is “X does not spark joy”, but spring feels better here.
